Great Health From Your SOB

Hi everyone!  Sorry I’m a day late but it has been a busy week.  Had a great lunch meeting with The Commonwealth Institute at the American Airlines Arena.  Didn’t know they served such great food.  3 women were the guest speakers and all of them have done outstanding work.  3 different stories and 3 different backgrounds, but all accomplished.

Then had my annual check-up and I am in great health, except I need a bone density test (which I am getting tomorrow), blood work done (on Thursday) and in June they want an Echo.  But I continue to do my daily workouts so I am feeling terrific.

Did our teleseminar on diet last night and if you missed it, you can listen to the replay at 712-432-1282   260758# It’s well worth it.

Went to another GKIC meeting which was fantastic and there is always so much new to learn.  People ask me why I keep going to meetings but you can always find a new technique.  Ditto with a Florida Speakers Assn meeting on Saturday—a whole new way of involving your audience.

Then I met with an old friend for lunch who is going in for hip surgery (seems more and more common every day), so he will be out of commission for a while.  Another friend is having foot surgery and also will be out of sorts for months.  Meanwhile I keep going through all the aches and pains.

Finally my Profit group had an open house and it was jam packed.  Held at a Tapas bar, I had my club soda but really enjoyed the shrimp.  So it was a busy social week and now I’m getting down to the nitty gritty before I leave for Dallas on Friday for the CSP/CPAE summit.

Question and Answer:

Q:  I really love the job I’m in and enjoy the people I work with, but I’m not really learning anymore or progressing as there is no place for me to go.  I don’t know if I should stay in this job since employment seems to be so hard to find these days, or if I should quit and look for something else.

A:  I certainly wouldn’t quit until you have something else lined up unless you are financially solvent and can do without your paycheck.  But if you want to satisfy your own confusion, you can start checking into other opportunities, let people know you’re interested in finding something else, and see what comes back to you. You may find that you are just fine where you are, or something amazing may present itself to you.  Either way, you should have your answer.  Ask yourself what your dream job would be and then start building around that.  It may surprise you.

Tips:

  1. People respect you when your opinion is worth while so don’t be afraid to voice your thoughts.
  2. Success carries responsibility to others and to be the best you can be.  Don’t let anyone down because you are fearful.
  3. Nothing will be more significant to your success as a leader as persistence.
