This is the last publication of the year and I am wishing all of
you a terrific 2011.  Take some time and reflect on what this
year has been about for all of you.  What are the lessons learned
and what would you change?  What would you jump up and down about
and repeat over and over?  Blend those things and make 2011 what
you want it to be!

Well, I didn’t get to any of my “chick flicks” as I spent most of
my time studying DVD’s I had bought and webinars that I had missed
but were stored online.  This is my best time for getting those
things done, but I did get to see “Mame” at the Stage Door Theatre
and it was terrific.  The music still gets you singing and swinging
and the cast was fantastic.

Got a good report from my doctor once again.  He thinks my skin is
becoming more flexible even though I don’t see it at all.  Wants
to schedule me for operation #2 sometime in January or February,
although officially this is surgery # 13.…

Holiday Doings

This was a busy weekend of catching up on the movies.  Saw “Up in the Air” and saw my life flash by me in every scene, except I did have a home life so it wasn’t as bad.  I enjoyed the movie but don’t think it rates the best picture designation or all the awards it is nominated for.  I then went on to “It’s Complicated” and thought it asbolutely delightful.  The entire theatre was laughing throughout the entire film.  Everyone was delightful and many years ago, when I thought of the “perfect man” if I ever lost my husband, I came up with Steve Martin–smart, good looking, athletic, intelligent–so I would have chosen him too.  Last film was “The Blind Side.”  Sandra Bullock did a terrific job and it was such a thought provoking film.  I really enjoyed that one.

Xmas was spent at my daughters and what a spread she put on.  Plus all the toys for my great grandson and gifts for everyone.  It was a warm intimate gathering and we all enjoyed ourselves.  There was my daughter, son, granddaughter, great grandson, my ex-son-in-law and his wife, and a friend of the family.

Now on to the New Year…

Christmas with Gayle Carson

December 20, 2010

First I want to wish everyone a very Merry Xmas. Hard to believe that 2010 is coming to a close so quickly. The new year will find me in a new home office and doing teleseminars. So stay tuned. I know the kids (dog and cats) will love having me in the house, but I hope they aren’t too distracting as I just enjoy watching them play so much! Dinners out this weekend with friends (ate too much each time, exercising like mad) and a couple of Xmas parties to boot so have to take next week carefully. Hope to really spend each day just getting organized and ready for 2011. I think it’s going to be a much better year and I’m looking forward to all the new things I have planned. One of the things that’s happening as I go through 50 years of files and boxes, is to see how much I accomplished in those years. I can’t believe I did all those things (really shaking my memory) or produced that much work. But the most fun is seeing all the old pics of my family and friends. Wow–great adventures remembered, people now gone…

Where have I been?

My internet went out and I felt helpless.  It’s a shame when our lives depend on technology so much.  Turns out it was a bad modeum and now I feel whole again.  It’s the same way with electricity.  When it goes out, there are no lights, no airconditioning, no TV and you feel as if you’re on a desert island.  The only good thing is I cook with a gas stove–except I really don’t cook.  I boil water and put eggs in it.

Since I saw you last, I have attended two very small business growth seminars.  Only 10 people in each and they were fantastic.  Got a lot of personal attention and great direction.  People always ask me why I continue to go to these programs, but if you don’t grow, you die.  So this Spunky Old Broad keeps learning and hopefully progressing.

Using these holidays weeks to catch up on appointments–for me and the pets because I think it’s going to be a terrific 2010 and I want to hit it at a run.

Warm December with the Spunky Old Broad

December 13, 2010

What a terrific week in San Diego! The weather has been warmer here than in Miami and that has to be a first. From what I understand, I am heading back tomorrow to cold, cold, cold. Not as bad as it is up north, but to Floridians, it’s cold!

Went to a very enlightening Avatar program this weekend. It works on your beliefs, both limiting and those that are not real. It was very intense, and went from 9 in the morning to 7 in the evening. I took Abby with me, and she stayed in a separate room but was a good girl, taking the lunch break with me and enjoying it. I have a lot of work to do, but I think it should be a fascinating journey.

I also went to the MPI (Meeting Professionals International) Holiday party on the U.S.S. Midway. It was quite festive with fireworks, an amazing meal, good entertainment and warm friendly people. I missed the one in Miami, so made up for it here.

Met several friends of mine and did a testimonial for Sandra Schrift who is a Speaking Coach. Had a few business meetings and also attended…

December 6, 2010

It’s been a busy week.  Celebrated my son’s 46th birthday on
Saturday.  Small gathering but a lovely one.  Had a wonderful
lunch with an alumni rep from my post graduate university,
Nova Southeastern U.

Have been doing a lot of research for my S.O.B.’s now officially
known as the “Spunky Outrageous Broads.”  We are starting a
bunch of teleseminars after the first of the year. So hopefully
you will be joining us!

Attended a Holiday networking session with TCI, a high level
women’s networking group and we had our official meetup group
of Spunky Old Broads on last Friday.  Interesting women with
interesting ideas.

If you would like to meet with us, check us out on meetup and
look for Spunky Old Broad.  Also, if you want to like us on
Facebook, here is the link:

We really want to build this community and give back to all the
women who are doing so much for their own community and the
world.  It is my mission and goal to mentor and guide as many
boomer women and beyond as…
