Miami Beach

Another grey day in Miami Beach, but at least the temperature
is 70. I left the North over 50 years ago, to escape the snow
and cold. I’ve never missed it–not the seasons, nor the
weather. Although my personal temperature changed after all
my chemo treatments, and my favorite temp is 65 to 75, I just
hate the cold.
This was a very busy birthday weekend. My kids took me out to
a wonderful Cuban restaurant on Friday evening, then came over
with my ex-son-in-law and his wife on Saturday for brunch, and
on Saturday night had a wonderful dinner at the steakhouse in
the Fontainebleau Hotel with my marketing partner from Wisconsin.
Yesterday, the kids and I (daughter, granddaughter and great
grandson) went to a picnic with a networking group I belong to.
My son is in San Diego so he did his thing with me last week.
I have been so busy watching the olympics that I haven’t done much
reading this week. I so enjoy the competitiveness, comraderie,
joy, smiles, and especially the “no excuses” mentality of
the olympians. Just think if you had to work for 4 years to
exhibit your two or three minutes of “talent.” Most of us wouldn’t
do it, which is what makes these athletes so supurb.
I also did some masterminding with a friend of mine. He is
someone who is always so positive, he even blows me away. We all
need someone like that in our life–so go find that person if you
don’t already have them.

Question and Answer:
Q: I love some of the new fashion that is out, but when is
something not age appropriate? Some of the things I see are just
out of my league or make me feel uncomfortable.
A: The most important thing is not so much what is in fashion,
but what do you look like? If you’ve got great legs, show them.
And if you don’t, it doesn’t matter how old you are, cover them
up. The same thing with necklines. If you bend over and your
boobs hang out, you shouldn’t wear that outfit. What about your
middle? If you have rolls, don’t wear anything tight. I have
seen women with clothes so tight, you can see the rolls on their
backs from their bra lines. One added tip: always look at
yourself from the back as well. You’d be surprised at the
exposed labels, and other things that appear. And when you bend
over, make sure your panties don’t show when your pants ride down.
So what’s age appropriate? Anything that makes you look fantastic!

Tips:
1. Be grateful. Some people are never satisfied. It doesn’t
mean accepting mediocrity in yourself or others. It simply means
look at all events as a blessing, even when they don’t go the way
you’d like.
2. Good stress spurs you on and bad stress debilitates you. When
too much stress occurs, your body undergoes wear and tear and your
mind experiences burnout.
3. We all experienced 3000 abrasive incidents a month. That’s
100 a day. Think about it. If we let them all bother us, we
wouldn’t get out of bed in the morning.

Thanks for this post. I just simply agree with what you are saying. I have been talking about this subject a lot lately with my father so probably this will get him to see my point of view. Fingers crossed!
