What a week!  Spoke at the San Diego Women’s Network to a wonderful group of women and had an equally fantastic Mastermind Session with Women’s Wisdom there.  Met a few of my friends for lunch and then winged my way back for my surgery.

What a joke!  I was at the hospital by 6:15 a.m. and because of all kinds of flukes was still sitting there at 2:30 p.m. with no hope of getting in.  Well they don’t call me the Spunky Old Broad for nothing.  I refused to go home and said I knew the insurance company wouldn’t pay for another round of “pre-ops” and I had to be taken in that day.

After all, I had flown back from the West Coast just for the pre-ops, flown back and then flew in the night before for the surgery.  After much pushing and shoving I got taken and

finally got home about 9:30 p.m.  Phew!  Although I was padded and harnessed everywhere, I did get to the hairdresser at 10 the next morning, did my grocery shopping and on Sunday went to my great-grandson’s birthday party.

When the anesthesiologist saw the vitamins I took, he said “And this all didn’t prevent you from getting cancer?”  And I said, “No, but it sure helps me in healing” and as you can see, it did.  Plan to start working out again today and off to Baltimore on Wednesday.

Question and Answer:

Q:  I’m beginning to think I’ve made some poor choices in life.  Is it too late to start over?  I really think I can make some big changes, but sometimes it seems overwhelming.

A:  You haven’t really said what your choices were, but it is never too late to turn over a new leaf and start again.  I would certainly look at where you think the poor choices have been (men, job, lifestyle, health?) and then start to make a plan.  If you can’t do it on your own, there are plenty of places to go for help.  Think of all the women who have done fantastic things into their 70’s and 80’s so I know there is hope for you.  If there is anything specific that you would like to ask me about, be sure to get back in touch.

  1. Wake up every day with a smile on your face and see how much better you feel.
  2. Have positive energy in your mind, heart and spirit and you will help a lot of other people as well.

3.      Increase your productivity by grouping like tasks and doing your best work at your most productive hours.
