Last night was a wonderful event. A friend of mine who is 80
years old celebrated her birthday with her family and I was the
only “friend” invited. It was spectacular. There were 20 of us
and the restaurant took very good care of us. To me there is
nothing better than when love is expressed from people who really
care.
Went to a Florida Speakers Association meeting Saturday to rev
up my knowledge of social media. It was great and Dr. Maurice
Ramirez did a fabulous job. Hard to believe I was the second
president of this fantastic group and that I’m still active. Of
course that’s what great organizations inspire.
Got my first mentoring session with a new guide and it was the
best. And yes, I still hire mentors myself because you are
never too old to learn and you are never so great that you aren’t
teachable.
Finishing up all my DVD’s that I bought and wow–what information
has been shared. You think you know every way to do something
until you hear it from someone else. That’s why none of you should
ever stop creating or doing or learning or hoping. There is always
tomorrow and something you can experience.
Thursday I went to a program from TCI where Nancy Brinker, founder
of the Susan G. Komen foundation, presented on her new book. It
was fascinating to hear how she started the foundation, what it
took to grow it, what she has learned and that it is imperative
to surround yourself with talented people who do a better job at
some things that you do. Listen to that and stop thinking you
can do everything by yourself.
Lastly, I mastermind with a group of wonderful women every week
who are spiritually based, business oriented, and utterly giving
of their information. You should look for a mastermind group of
your own so you can get input and wisdom.

Question and Answer:
Q: I very much want to write a book. I know you have written more
than one and wanted to get an idea from you how difficult it is,
what is involved and if it is worth it.
A: That’s a loaded question. It all depends on why you want to
write the book. If it is to make money, then you probably won’t.
Most books sell between $10 to $30 and it takes a lot of sales to
make any real money. If you self-publish, there is a lot of expense
involved. If you publish with a name publisher, it takes a lot to
get a contract, and it will be another 18 months before you see your
book published. If you want it to promote you, or there is infor-
mation you want to get out there because you are so passionate
about it. or it will be a legacy for you, that is an important
reason for you to do it. Do a book if it solidifies your message,
leaves your audience or buyers with something so important they need
to have a resource, or it is your memoir. Don’t do it to be famous,
rich, a celebrity or any of the other wrong reasons. Whatever your
decision, I wish you good luck.

Tips:
1. Conversation is the exchange of ideas and reflects your character.
interest and experiences.
2. When on the phone, lower your voice, slow down and articulate.
It soothes and calms angry callers.
3. In order to lead, there must be someone who will follow.
