What a terrific week in San Diego! The weather has been warmer here than in Miami and that has to be a first. From what I understand, I am heading back tomorrow to cold, cold, cold. Not as bad as it is up north, but to Floridians, it’s cold!
Went to a very enlightening Avatar program this weekend. It works on your beliefs, both limiting and those that are not real. It was very intense, and went from 9 in the morning to 7 in the evening. I took Abby with me, and she stayed in a separate room but was a good girl, taking the lunch break with me and enjoying it. I have a lot of work to do, but I think it should be a fascinating journey.
I also went to the MPI (Meeting Professionals International) Holiday party on the U.S.S. Midway. It was quite festive with fireworks, an amazing meal, good entertainment and warm friendly people. I missed the one in Miami, so made up for it here.
Met several friends of mine and did a testimonial for Sandra Schrift who is a Speaking Coach. Had a few business meetings and also attended a Women’s Wisdom group, which is a group of women who get together to share, and also recommend each other in their various businesses. Then I got together with my old buddies from Celebrity Branding at the Hard Rock and of course, they did their usual magnificent job.,
All in all, except for my daily sojourns to the gym, I had no free time at all—and it was wonderful. Now I’m back in Miami until after the holidays. Gals, I am moving my office into my home, and if you think packing up 50 years of “stuff” is easy, think again, But it has to be done, and this is just the season to do it in. So wish me luck.
As promised, I will be starting my teleseminars next month, so stay tuned for dates and times.

Question and Answer:]
Q: I really have a problem. My parents are getting older and I don’t feel comfortable with them living on their own. I don’t want to recommend a nursing home (which they really aren’t ready for) and I think an adult community or assisted living facility is in order. However, they are really resisting this. I don’t live close to them, and don’t know what to do.
A: This is never easy. And no one can make that decision for you. Start looking at adult communities that have nursing staff available, and start getting and comparing prices. You need to know if you or they will be taking on more responsibility in terms of finances, and whether it makes practical sense to do this. Then take them on a tour of the best one you find, and let them get the feel of the place. Sometimes the activities and the people do a better selling job for you then anything you can say. The point is, it isn’t going to get any better. As your parents age, more thing will go wrong and you need to be prepared. At least have a few places on the list so when the time actually comes when you must move them, you have the options ready.

Tips:
1. Saying hello to someone automatically makes them smile.
2. Find something good to say about everyone. You’d be surprised how many people never have anything nice said to them.
3. The first thing anyone notices about you is your face, so make sure you aren’t scowling or are deep in thought where you look like you’re putting someone off.
