Here it is Memorial Day and it’s important we remember not only
the men and women who serve us each and every day in the military,
but all the people who are important in our own lives. Some times
we take people for granted, and it’s nice to tell them once in a
while how much they mean to us.
I went to an Argentine Tango show last night. I have been so
enthralled with “Dancing with the Stars” that I finally had to go
and see the experts. Except for…

It was an emotional weekend. Many of you know that my mom passed away six months ago, and yesterday was the unveiling of her headstone. Because she is buried in Albany, New York, we didn’t do it earlier because of the winter, and then it became a time when all of us (nieces, nephews, their kids etc.) could have the same weekend to do it. And yesterday was it. I flew to Syracuse where my sister and her family live and then we drove into Albany, had the ceremony and lunch with everyone and friends, and drove…

I'm finally back from my sojourn to Reno. It's a great little town, but everyone seems to smoke. And when you're in a Casino hotel, which is every one, you just can't get away from it. You can be in a smoke free meeting room but once you leave to use the bathroom, or just walk back to your room, you are inundated.
I had a board meeting on Friday, took a trip to Virginia City on Saturday where I bought an amazing leather jacket and turqoise necklace, gave a speech on Sunday and had meetings on Monday. Back…

It has been an absolutely fantastic week in San Diego. I always seem to jump start my creative juices here. I see friends and have experiences that make me think about things in a completely different way. I went to an art festival and the dogs were plentiful (but Abby stole the show) and I must confess, I did buy some fantastic jewelry. My weakness is real unusual pieces and I found a stone (part of the amethyst family), that came from Israel I hadn’t seen before.
I also went up to Temecula (wine country even though…

Yesterday was Mother’s Day and 4 generations of us went out for dinner. It was very nice, very noisy and very hot, so we ate indoors. There were 4 mothers in the group as well, so it was appreciated by all.
I told you I was in Chicago for a board meeting of the Institute of Management Consultants and I took one afternoon to go on the Architectural Tour done by boat. It was fantastic and the docent narrating the trip was superb. The weather was chilly and it rained several times while I was there, but…

The one thing I love about being over 50 is that I know a lot of people. While I was cleaning my office (an ongoing event), I came across names of people in my past and I started calling them. What a treat!
I found a young man who I knew when he was in college and now he’s married with a daughter and a great job. We had lunch!
I found a woman who I hadn’t seen in 10 years, called her and she is doing some fascinating new things including having written a new book. We had…

If you have hit 50 and have no energy, then you’ll be interested in the story of "Granny Haddock." I became interested in Granny because she attended my Alma Mater, Emerson College.
Her story is legendary in the Northeast, because at the age of 90, she walked across the U.S. (3200 miles), to call attention to the issue of campaign finance reform.
She was a former Senate candidate and a political activist. But she was also a wife, mother, actress and a general Spunky Old Broad. She just passed away at the age of 100 and I for…

Yesterday was Valentine’s Day and I spent it with my kids, granddaughter and great grandson. We went out to dinner and it was wonderful to see all the families that were there with their younger and older relatives (many in wheelchairs). Reminded me of how much my Mom loved going out to dinner no matter how difficult it was.
Of course, I wished all my animals a Happy Valentine’s Day as well, as they are the ones who keep me company all the time. Boomers are interesting folk because they are sandwiched between young and old and seem to be…

Where in the world have I been? Well, after going up to Syracuse for my mom's funeral, I then headed to Palm Beach and met with some of my husband's oldest friends for lunch before heading to a meeting for my Internet Information Marketing Assn. www.netaim.info
I then headed to San Diego, my most favorite place in the world besides Miami Beach, and had the most peaceful week ever. Don't ask me why, but it was great weather, and I saw some good friends. In addition, I saw the pre-Broadway musical "Sammy," the story of Sammy Davis…

I had the opportunity to go on a sunset boat cruise with a group of peers last Friday evening. It was absolutely magnificent. There is nothing as peaceful as the water and especially when you are with friends, it can be outstanding. We toured Biscayne Bay, something I have done many times, but never in the late afternoon hours.
The weather was perfect, the conversation was inspiring, and the people were terrific. We are all part of a Glazer Kennedy chapter, so have marketing, marketing, marketing in common. But we are all in different business arenas, so while we…
