Happy Valentine’s Day. By now, you all know how you’ll be spending
it and with whom. My husband used to bring me chocolates (which I
don’t eat) and then of course, he’d eat them all. He was diabetic
and never should have, but I;d go through that all again just to
have him here.
My kids are coming over tonight to celebrate my birthday. It isn’t
until Saturday but I’ll be in San Diego so tonight’s the night. So
dinner will be prepared, happiness exchanged and another year will
start for me. I feel terrific and still have lots of plans so don’t
any of you out there ever feel you’re too old to do or be what you
would like to (as long as it’s realistic!) And most things are.
Went to a picnic yesterday of my Profit group and took the kids with
me. We all played football (modified), ate too much, and generally
had a great time. The weather was perfect and my great-grandson was
in heaven being out on the field and running around. I was home for

Wow–what a Super Bowl. And today, everyone is talking about the
commercials of course. Some loved them, some didn’t and every talk
show I heard has a comment. Regardless, it’s a grand event, and
something my hubby would have looked forward to and had a lot of
comment about. He was a great back seat driver when it came to
football.
Remember my 80 year old friend I told you about. I took her to a
jazz concert on Saturday night and she got to sing. She was
fantastic! They wanted her to do more but she wasn’t quite sure
about her voice so she refused. It was a grand evening and my
friend, Joan Cartwright, was the host and main performer.
Got a great report from my oncologist and he told me to keep doing
what I’ve been doing. It always puts everything else in perspective
when your health is an issue. I work very hard at keeping fit as
you all know, and take it very seriously.
Met with another survivor, Rhonda Smith, who has created a wonderful

I can’t believe it’s the end of the month already. And I was
just getting used to writing 2011 on all the checks and
correspondence.
Yesterday I went to a brunch for my alma mater, Emerson College,
It was at the Polo Club of Boca Raton and was lovely. Our
speaker was Kevin Bright, executive producer of “Friends” and
a graduate of the college. He is a guest professor at the
college and has done some amazing things not only at Emerson
but at Perkins School for the Blind also in Boston. He is
teaching their students how to film and appreciate the entire
production process. He showed us a sample of their work and
it is amazing.
On Saturday night I went to see Barry Manilow. Was very lucky
and ended up being moved up to the 8th row so I was almost nose
to nose with the way the stage was set. He was fantabulous and
is one of my favorites. The audience never stopped applauding
or singing. And of course the songs are ones I understand and

Last night was a wonderful event. A friend of mine who is 80
years old celebrated her birthday with her family and I was the
only “friend” invited. It was spectacular. There were 20 of us
and the restaurant took very good care of us. To me there is
nothing better than when love is expressed from people who really
care.
Went to a Florida Speakers Association meeting Saturday to rev
up my knowledge of social media. It was great and Dr. Maurice
Ramirez did a fabulous job. Hard to believe I was the second
president of this fantastic group and that I’m still active. Of
course that’s what great organizations inspire.
Got my first mentoring session with a new guide and it was the
best. And yes, I still hire mentors myself because you are
never too old to learn and you are never so great that you aren’t
teachable.
Finishing up all my DVD’s that I bought and wow–what information
has been shared. You think you know every way to do something
until you hear it from someone else. That’s why…

What a beautiful week San Diego has had for me. Totally fantastic weather and sunshine every day.
Started off with my Master Mind group–a fantastic group of women who are so individualistic and bring diversified feedback to one another. The next evening we had a meeting of Womens Wisdom, a networking group of which I am a sponsor, and Arielle Ford was our guest speaker. Very interesting presentation on her book, “The Soulmate Secret.” Bought one for my son, but am reading it first!!
Then on to a business meeting and a hospital visit to one of my college roomies. You hate to make those but it’s important to the people you are seeing. One more reason I keep stressing your health, taking care of yourself and making sure you have your preventive screenings etc. Then in the evening, dinner with a friend.
More lunches and dinners with friends the remainder of the week, but never fear, I did a lot of work while I was here. I find I do much better writing when I’m sitting on the balcony of my condo with the sun shining, my puppy by my side and far less interruptions than…

Well, I saw two diverse movies this weekend. One was “The KIngs
SpeecH” which was absolutely fantastic. In fact, the audience
exploded into applause when it was done. Let’s see how many
awards it collects this year. It is also amazing that none of
us were aware of the speech problem the king had. It was a time
of non-media and the royalty was very well secluded in the news
arena. I don’t think it would be the same now.
Then I went to see “Oy Vey My Son is Gay.” Funny, truthful and
certainly not the same calibur as the first movie, but everyone
in the audience was laughing at the situations presented. At the
end the director/producer actually came in front and spoke to us
about the difficulties in putting the movie together and what he
had to do to get it distributed. And he asked us to let people
know about it. Whether it would do well in another locale is
a different story, but my friend wanted to see it and doesn’t
drive, so I took her–and enjoyed it!…

Are we going to have fun remembering to write 2011 on all our
checks and outgoing notes? I am thinking back to when we
thought that turning 2000 was going to be a disaster and people
actually stayed home believing something terrible was going to
happen and here we are in 2011!!
Met a wonderful woman Deborah Hurm and her friend when I went to
see Sharon Gless in a play Saturday evening. Hopefully the pic
of the three of us made it to this newsletter. Deborah herself
is an accomplished actress and the play really hit home as it’s
about a woman in her 60′s who has decided she wants to have sex
and find a fulfilling relationship. And what a journey it is!
I also went to a “ladies only” birthday party for Eileen Burns
who is co-director of the local GKIC chapter. It was a delightful
setting and gathering of the “tribe.” We set out on the…

This is the last publication of the year and I am wishing all of
you a terrific 2011. Take some time and reflect on what this
year has been about for all of you. What are the lessons learned
and what would you change? What would you jump up and down about
and repeat over and over? Blend those things and make 2011 what
you want it to be!
Well, I didn’t get to any of my “chick flicks” as I spent most of
my time studying DVD’s I had bought and webinars that I had missed
but were stored online. This is my best time for getting those
things done, but I did get to see “Mame” at the Stage Door Theatre
and it was terrific. The music still gets you singing and swinging
and the cast was fantastic.
Got a good report from my doctor once again. He thinks my skin is
becoming more flexible even though I don’t see it at all. Wants
to schedule me for operation #2 sometime in January or February,
although officially this is surgery # 13.…

First I want to wish everyone a very Merry Xmas. Hard to believe that 2010 is coming to a close so quickly. The new year will find me in a new home office and doing teleseminars. So stay tuned. I know the kids (dog and cats) will love having me in the house, but I hope they aren’t too distracting as I just enjoy watching them play so much! Dinners out this weekend with friends (ate too much each time, exercising like mad) and a couple of Xmas parties to boot so have to take next week carefully. Hope to really spend each day just getting organized and ready for 2011. I think it’s going to be a much better year and I’m looking forward to all the new things I have planned. One of the things that’s happening as I go through 50 years of files and boxes, is to see how much I accomplished in those years. I can’t believe I did all those things (really shaking my memory) or produced that much work. But the most fun is seeing all the old pics of my family and friends. Wow–great adventures remembered, people now gone…

What a terrific week in San Diego! The weather has been warmer here than in Miami and that has to be a first. From what I understand, I am heading back tomorrow to cold, cold, cold. Not as bad as it is up north, but to Floridians, it’s cold!
Went to a very enlightening Avatar program this weekend. It works on your beliefs, both limiting and those that are not real. It was very intense, and went from 9 in the morning to 7 in the evening. I took Abby with me, and she stayed in a separate room but was a good girl, taking the lunch break with me and enjoying it. I have a lot of work to do, but I think it should be a fascinating journey.
I also went to the MPI (Meeting Professionals International) Holiday party on the U.S.S. Midway. It was quite festive with fireworks, an amazing meal, good entertainment and warm friendly people. I missed the one in Miami, so made up for it here.
Met several friends of mine and did a testimonial for Sandra Schrift who is a Speaking Coach. Had a few business meetings and also attended…
