Warm December with the Spunky Old Broad

December 13, 2010

What a terrific week in San Diego! The weather has been warmer here than in Miami and that has to be a first. From what I understand, I am heading back tomorrow to cold, cold, cold. Not as bad as it is up north, but to Floridians, it’s cold!

Went to a very enlightening Avatar program this weekend. It works on your beliefs, both limiting and those that are not real. It was very intense, and went from 9 in the morning to 7 in the evening. I took Abby with me, and she stayed in a…

Birthday Celebration with The Spunky Old Broad

6th December, 2010 - Posted by gaylecarson - No Comments

December 6, 2010

It’s been a busy week.  Celebrated my son’s 46th birthday on
Saturday.  Small gathering but a lovely one.  Had a wonderful
lunch with an alumni rep from my post graduate university,
Nova Southeastern U.

Have been doing a lot of research for my S.O.B.’s now officially
known as the “Spunky Outrageous Broads.”  We are starting a
bunch of teleseminars after the first of the year. So hopefully
you will be joining us!

Attended a Holiday networking session with TCI, a high level
women’s networking group and we had our official…

Holidays and Family

30th November, 2010 - Posted by gaylecarson - No Comments

Last week was wonderful.  We celebrated Thanksgiving with 13 people and my great grandson.  A lot of work, but well worth it.  Many friends and family as well.  It was my husband’s favorite holiday so we keep the tradition going and feel like he is still with us.  It was our anniversary week as well and today would have been my son’s 53rd birthday.  So a lot of sentiment going on.

I also went to the opera.  Not sure how I feel about it.  I love music and now that they have all the subtitles above, it is much easier…

Gayle Carson After Thanksgiving

November 29, 2010

Well, Thanksgiving is over and I can tell you, with 14 people and
no dishwasher (a long story) I personally did the dishes and it
took 2 1/2 hours.  But it’s a tradition and since I don’t cook,
I am the designated washer.  It was wonderful being with friends
and family, but missed my dear hubby!

And then Saturday was our anniversary.  I went out to dinner with
another couple who were married in November and with whom I’ve
been friends for over 50 years.  She was a student of mine…

Thanksgiving with The Spunky Old Broad

November 22, 2010

I just spent Sunday starting to clean out my office because I
am slowly going to transition into my house.  Well, can you
imagine what I am beginning to find going through 40 years of
“stuff.”  I can’t believe how prolific I was.  Not only did
I write and create tons of material, but I was chair of more
committees than anyone should ever have access to.  I also had
more projects going than one human should ever attempt.  It
makes me feel as if I’m now standing still.

My…

GKIC With The Spunky Old Broad

November 15, 2010

Just back from attending the GKIC Info Summit in Baltimore and
thankfully we were blessed with great weather.  And I must say
the beds in the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront were the most
comfortable in a hotel in a long time.  I cuddled up in the covers
and pillows and that’s all she wrote! Out like a light.

The speakers were great and friendships were renewed and now I
am all excited that I have 3 weeks at home.  So are my pets who
were ecstatic that I arrived back to love…

November 8, 2010

What a week!  Spoke at the San Diego Women’s Network to a wonderful group of women and had an equally fantastic Mastermind Session with Women’s Wisdom there.  Met a few of my friends for lunch and then winged my way back for my surgery.

What a joke!  I was at the hospital by 6:15 a.m. and because of all kinds of flukes was still sitting there at 2:30 p.m. with no hope of getting in.  Well they don’t call me the Spunky Old Broad for nothing.  I refused to go home and said I knew the insurance…

November 1, 2010

November already–wow!  Hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween–mine was very quiet.  I am in San Diego and no one knocked on my door!  I am speaking at the San Diego Women’s Network tomorrow evening on How to Market on a Shoe-String Budget and am really looking forward to it.  I really believe in women running their own businesses and certainly having high level influence in companies they work for.

Breast cancer month is now over but don’t forget to keep getting your checkups.  It will save your life.  I am going in for my first surgery this…

Halloween Past

31st October, 2010 - Posted by gaylecarson - No Comments

I never realized that Halloween has turned into one of the most important adult holidays.  To me, it always takes me back to my hometown of Albany, NY and going from door to door to get my "treats."   It was a great adventure, not only because of the costume I got to choose, but because I was always amazed by the haul of candy I got.  Back then, pennies and nickels were appreciated too and you never had to worry about "strangers" or getting anything that wasn't o.k. to eat.

The best thing about Halloween in Miami Beach is Lincoln Rd.…

Spunky Old Broad in San Diego

October 25, 2010

Wow! What a week it’s been. Spent 3 days at a seminar in San Diego that was fantastic. Very practical, spiritually based, and lots of good people and ideas. Then I trekked on over to Reno for the IMC (Institute of Management Consultants) Confab. More great people and ideas, not so spiritual, but plenty of good feelings. Tomorrow I wing my way home for just one day and then back to the West Coast with my Abby in tow. Somehow the feeding schedule got mixed up at home and she greeted my son at the door with…
